Ric & Jody
Hornor... authors, or not? In the case of The "Golden History
Books" we say not.
We simply researched primary source documents (granted
we spend hundreds of hours doing so) and
present the history as it was written in the 19th century. The
introduction and photo captions are all we really lay claim to.
We began this series of books after an auto accident
that wouldn't allow us to continue in our existing businesses. When a friend loaned us an
1883 history book we knew
we'd found a new direction.
With backgrounds in art and marketing we knew we had the
ability to bring a fresh approach to the area's rich past. Our goal -- to
create history books that are fun and engaging so more people will read,
appreciate, and protect the area's history and culture.
We'll continue to build The Golden History Book series over
the next couple of years. There's simply too much exciting information
that most people have never read to stop now.

Ric
Hornor is a Sacramento native and graduate of
CSUS. He went on to complete his Masters of Fine Art (MFA) at the School
of the Art Institute of Chicago.
As a fine artist, Ric has many corporate collectors of
his work including: MCI International, ADP, Trammel Crow, Sprint,
Kaiser Permanente, RCA Global Communications, and the Sarnoff Research
Center, just to mention a few.
Ric's keen interest in new media led him to found NYC/SIGGRAPH
in 1984, now the worlds largest computer graphics interest group.
He also taught new media at two highly prestigious
universities: Pratt Institute, and the Center for Media Arts. You may see
the result of his teaching in many movie and TV show special effects as
some of his students have gone on to become the top special effects people
in the industry.
